Congratulations to Geraldine Manan of 6th grade who was accepted into the TEAK program.
The TEAK Fellowship is a free NYC-based program that helps talented students achieve their potential. Through intensive after school and summer classes.
Entrance to the program is based on the fact that Geraldine scored a 4 on New York State tests in Mathematics and English Language Arts in 5th grade.
The program assists students in preparation for attending elite high schools after graduation form the 8th grade.
Geraldine will be following in the footsteps of Alexander Castillo who graduated in 2015 and is presently attending Phillips Andover High School in Massachuetts.

New York State Mathematics Tests
Grades 3-8
Students in grades 3-8 will be administered the New York State tests in Mathematics on
Wednesday May 1st and Thursday May 2nd.
Students should go to bed early, have 4 #2 pencils.
As mentioned before on this blog the results of these tests will not be available until the end of August.
Free —-Title I Summer School
8:30 AM - 2:00 PM
Enrollment papers for the Title I Summer Program will be sent home on Monday.
Registration must be done on-line. If you need assistance in registering please feel free to see Mr. Guzman or Alba during the week or Brianna on Sundays.
Registration will close on May 15, 2019
This program will not be offered at OLQM this summer as there will be construction work done for the opening of the new Pre K for ALL 3 year old program.
This Title I Summer program will suffice for students who were notified during the report card distribution on April 8th that they may be in danger of attending Summer School due to poor academic success.
Parents who have questions are requested to see Mr. Woods on Sundays or speak to Alba.
There will be a number of sites that are available on the enrollment paper and parents may choose the site closest to them.
