Interim Assessments
The Interim Assessments will be administered to students in grades K-8 this week on Thursday 12/12 and Friday 12/13. Students who are absent will be administered the makeup exams during the following week.
The material on the interim assessments will cover material in both units one and two. Students in Grades Kindergarten, one and two will be administered the tests using pencil and paper. Students in grades 3-8 will be administered the test on either an iPad or in the computer room. This method of assessment will be the methodology that will be used by PARCC for the Common Core assessments that will be administered in 2015.
Parents may want to read an excellent editorial published in the New York Times entitled -- Are Kids Too Coddled? by Frank Bruni. Google it--it is worthy read for all parents. Again parents are urged to browse the New York State Education website of Engage New York
Oral Health Screening
Students who returned the permission slips will receive instruction on proper brushing and flossing along with a variety of free supplies on Monday December 9th.
Picture Day
Individual picture day will be Wednesday, December 11th. Parents should have returned the picture envelope to Mrs. Resto in the tuition office by
Friday, December 6th as mentioned on last week's blog. If you forgot please give the picture envelope to Mrs. Resto ASAP so that we may inform the photographer. Students may wear dress up clothes----no jeans if they are having their picture taken.
Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe
In honor of the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe the 4th grade will lead Mass at 9:00 AM on Thursday December 12th - Parents are invited to join us.
