New York State Tests Grades 3-8
Ohhh the hoopla over standardized tests. Like I mentioned before when is it time for a child to learn that testing whether it be in grammar school, regents tests in high school (and for our biology students in 8th grade), SAT's for college and hopefully licensing tests for a profession begin?
It begins in grammar school so that children learn that tests are part and parcel of an ordinary life experience.
Students worked diligently this past week on their ELA tests and they took their time. This week they will work just as hard on the NYS Math tests. Parents are reminded to make sure that their child goes to bed early, have their pencils for the test and reinforce to their child that they will be proud of them whatever their score is -----and parents should remember to wish their child well on the morning of the test.
