Week of March 12, 2017 Announcements

Re-Registration due on TADS
A reminder from the Regional Office - re-registration is due on TADS as explained in the e-mail that was sent to you.
Alba can help parents in the office who are experiencing difficulty in understanding the process.
Parents are reminded that if there are outstanding tuition balances on their accounts that the re-registration will be placed on hold and parents will be required to meet with the Business Manager of the Region before their              re-registration is accepted for
September, 2017.
Also parents who need assistance with the financial aid application can see Alba and she will assist parents in doing the on-line application.

Parents who have received a financial aid letter are asked to please bring a copy or Alba can make a copy for you so that we can correlate it with Smart Tuition.

Boxes will be sent home with students who want to assist the
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
This along with the CRS Rice Bowl campaign is a way that students can be involved with alms-giving during Lent.

New York State ELA Test Grades 3-8
As listed above the NYS ELA test will be administered to students in 15 days.
Students should be using i-Ready on a regular basis - at least one lesson a day in preparation for the test.
The test will be not be timed again this year so as to reduce any stress level.
As mentioned before the hoopla over state testing BY PARENTS causes more anxiety in students than is warranted.
When do we finally sit a student down to take a high stakes test?
Every major profession requires a licensing exam---- do you go to a doctor that did not take a licensing test because he or she was stressed?
M.D., R.N., P.A., PhD -- along with a host of other professions require a high stakes test and the sooner children are taught that testing is part of being successful the better they will be for it.
If you have any questions please see Mr. Woods.

i-Ready Grades K-8

Accounts were open for all students in Grades K-8 for the
on-line Reading and Math program. Students were given their logins and passwords so that the program can be accessed at home.
All students would benefit from using the program on a regular basis.
If your child has "lost" their login and password parents should see
Mr. Guzman who has all the logins etc.
