Week of November 13, 2017 Announcements

November 7, 2017

Dear Parents/Guardians:

In September the Office of the Superintendent announced a new strategic planning process, Pathways to Excellence II.” The purpose of Pathways II is to map out the priorities and direction of our Catholic school system over the next three years. Over the past two months, committees made up of Catholic school teachers, principals, donors, pastors, alumni, and parents have been working diligently to examine how we can continue to grow and improve over the next several years.

We felt it was important to provide a platform for all of our stakeholders to weigh in on this critical initiative, and to facilitate that, we have created a special webpage where members of our Catholic school community can submit their thoughts: found at https://catholicschoolsny.org/about-us/pathways/

In order to provide our committee members sufficient time to review and digest this commentary, the online forum will close on November 15, 2017.

Cardinal Dolan and I firmly agree that our parents are the principal and primary educators of our children, so this process would not be complete without your critical feedback. Over the next several months, the committees will review the recommendations submitted, identify key objectives, and propose critical strategies to achieve these important priorities. We look forward to sharing our final report this coming winter. I thank you for your participation and your continued partnership.

Sincerely,
Timothy J. McNiff, Ed.D.

Archdiocese of New York
