I hope
that this letter finds you well and that your summer has been relaxing.
I am
writing regarding the start of the school year for 2019-2020.
As in the
past there will be back to school night for parents to meet with teachers on Wednesday,
September 4, 2019 before the onset of school.
The
meetings will begin in the school auditorium and then proceed to your child's
classroom. This is an adult to adult
meeting and students should remain home. Please make arrangements for
childcare before you come to the meeting.

PM -- Grades 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, &
8
These
meetings will enable you the parent to learn the goals the classroom teacher
has set for your child for this upcoming year.
This year school will open on September 5th for all
students:
8:00 AM
for all students in PreK, Kindergarten, Grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8.
Breakfast
will be served in the cafeteria beginning at 7:30 AM. Early drop off at 7:00 AM will begin for students in grades PreK and K.
Students
in grades K and 1 will line up in the school
lunchroom and will be escorted to their classrooms by their teacher.
PreK,
Kindergarten and grades 2-8 students will go directly to their classroom.
Dismissal
will be at 3:15 PM.
The yearly school calendar will be posted on www.olqmnyc.org
the last week in August.
You will receive a printed monthly calendar each month with updated
announcements on the school blog of www.olqmnyc.blogspot.com.
In
regards to school supplies--I have asked the teachers to post their list on the
aforementioned blog ---www.olqmnyc.blogspot.com in order for you to avail
yourself of early bird specials.
I have also enclosed a registration form for the After
School Program
- if you wish to enroll your child you may have it filled out and bring it with
you on September 4th or 5th. The program will begin Wednesday
September 11th! Payment for the After School Program will be
billed to your Smart Tuition Account. All payments must be made using a debit
card, credit card or your checking account. Please see Mr. Guzman if you have
questions regarding Smart Tuition.
For the
remainder of the summer the school office is open daily from 9:00
