Recitation of the Rosary in Church
in remembrance of all those who have been impacted by
SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19)
Led by students of Grades 4-8.
All students in PreK through grade 8 will be in church and hopefully they will be able to find a rosary at home to join us as we pray for Mary's intercession during this time.
Parents Welcome.
PreK-5 Classroom
Mr. Woods is happy to report that all staff assigned to the PreK-5 classroom have tested negative for Covid-19. The students have all been reported to be well to date. They will continue to remain home as per CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines and will return to their classroom on
Friday, October 9th.
The classroom was steam disinfected on Sunday, September 27th as was the whole second floor of the school and the backyard of the school along with the fact that the room has been thoroughly cleaned each day this week. The students mats have been discarded and new mats will be furnished to them on their arrival.
Diligence in all matters of cleanliness of hands and proper face masks are essential if we as a school community will continue to help students and ourselves as adults deal with this challenge.

Yearly Calendar 2020-2021Many parents have asked for the publication of yearly calendar.
Mr. Woods has a calendar template that he has submitted to the Archdiocese but has not published it due to the unforeseen changes that may happen with COVID-19.
A copy of that calendar will be posted on the school website by Brianna this coming week. She is working on it with the web site company. When it is ready Mr. Woods will inform parents where it may be found on the school website of www.olqmnyc.org.
Please remember this calendar is a draft and is subject to change based on what occurs in school.
As the weather starts to cool down a reminder that students should have a school sweater which looks like the picture above with the school logo.
As per CDC guidelines the classroom windows will be open 2 inches from the top in all classrooms to have circulating air. The heat will be on as it gets colder but some students already feel the cold and parents should be ready to address their needs in the classroom.

2. Students should have on a polo shirt while remotely learning -- NOT THEIR PAJAMAS.
3. Students should have their microphone muted.

Monday October 5, 2020 -- National Child Health Day. A reminder to parents about having their child receive their flu shot.
Home Language Surveys will be sent home with students today. Please have them filled out and returned by Friday. These surveys help us attain Title III monies for extra classroom books and Teacher Professional Development.
Tuesday October 6, 2020 -- National Mad Hatter Day. The date for the holiday was chosen because of how John Tenniel illustrated the Hatter in Alice in Wonderland. The English illustrator who was also a political cartoonist depicted the Hatter wearing a hat with a piece of paper that has 10/6 written on it. The 10/6 refers to the cost of a hat – 10 shillings and 6 pence. The creators of the holiday who are from the United States where the date is written in the month/day (mm/dd) format took this to set the date for the holiday on October 6 (10/6).
Students may wear their version of a Mad Hatter to class- in person or remote.
