Some clarifications regarding Breakfast and Lunch
1. Breakfast is served daily in all classrooms from 8:00 AM - 8:20 AM. The women in the kitchen are paid only from 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM by the federal program that supplies the food. Parents who are late should not expect the class to stop to serve food again.
2. Lunch is served in the classrooms for all PreK Classes. Grades K-8 eat lunch in the school lunchroom following the CDC (Center for Disease Control) guidelines.
3. FFVP - on the menu refers to the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program that is served 3 days of the week only.
4. Paper menus will be sent home beginning today on 11x17 paper - please check your child's bookbag. They no longer will be sent via e-mail.
5. Parents are welcome to send lunch with their child if they feel the child is a picky eater. There are no microwaves permitted to be used to heat food so please send either cold food or food in a thermos.
6. Students are not permitted to take their lunchbox etc. to the backyard when leaving the lunchroom as they notoriously forget to bring it home causing a search and rescue mission for the lost lunchbox.
PreK For All Program
3:00 PM
You may have noticed on Friday that crowd control ropes needed to be put up due to a number of Grandparents/parents trying to skip the line/enter the church doors. Some seem to be just plain trying to cause a ruckus at dismissal by yelling their child's/ grandchild's name out.
Each teacher along with the classroom aides, Mrs. Zogda, Mr. Woods are present at dismissal. Each grandparent/parent should wait in an ORDERLY manner for their child to be released by the classroom teacher.
Parent Meetings with Mr. Woods
Parents who wish to see Mr. Woods may see him on Sundays from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
There is no need for an appointment. Parents are required to wear a mask when seeing Mr. Woods.
Sundays appointments keep within the guidelines of the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) as no parents visitors are permitted in the school while children are present.
The cleaning company cleans the building nightly after everyone has left including Sundays.
Grades K-8
Parents should accept the invitation to join their child's Google Classroom account. This way they can keep in touch with the teacher about assignments/projects.
The teacher's e-mail address were listed on this blog last week and should they have a problem please e-mail your child's teacher who will work on rectifying any problems.
We are happy to announce that Mr. Montas, the science teacher in grades 4-8 will be participating in the Berlin Marathon next week. This will be Mr. Montas' first marathon and we wish hip luck as he runs 26 miles through the streets of Berlin.
