Practice ELA Test Grades 3-8

Thursday March 24th - Part II
Students in grades 3-8 during their regularly scheduled Reading class will take a practice test from the archived New York State ELA tests.
The session will mimic the 90 minute time frame that will occur the following week.
Students will need pencils, highlighters and a book to read.
Students will not be able to have any water bottles in the room.
Students will not be able to leave the room for the bathroom after the test has begun.
Students will not be able to leave the room to see the nurse-- the nurse will be be summoned to the room if needed.
Students will be required if they finish early to read a book ONLY.
They will not be able to ask the teacher to get something from somewhere,
go to their bookbag etc..

Report Card Progress and Summer SchoolThe third quarter report card on April 1st will notify parents if their child will be required to attend summer school in order to be promoted to the next grade. There is ample time -- 2 months of school remaining for students to improve their grades in order to avoid summer school.
The report card will note that Summer Summer in PERSON is a requirement for promotion.
Please speak to your child's teacher on Friday April 1st during the scheduled report card time.
The summer school program is free and open to open to all students. Students who are failing will be required to attend in person for the whole program which will be held here at OLQM.
Also as listed in the parent/student handbook children who have been absent more than 20 school days will be retained in that grade.
As always parents may see Mr. Woods on Sundays from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM with any of their concerns regarding their child's progress, summer school or promotion to the next grade.
There is no appointment needed for parents to see Mr. Woods on Sundays.

1. If your child is in the 4 year old program - Parents should have enrolled them for Kindergarten either here at OLQM or some other school.
2. Financial Assistance is available to parents who wish to attend OLQM -- please contact Alba in the school office at 212-567-3190 for assistance.
3. Kindergarten enrollment at OLQM is open until the class fills -- which is usually in June. Please read all documentation once you register your child for Kindergarten.
You must use the school code of 06MAFQ -- some parents have registered for the wrong school!
4. Mrs. Zogka will assist parents in the 3 or 4 year old PreK For All Program regarding questions. Call the school office at 212-567-3190 and she will assist you or send her an e-mail.
5. Registration for 3K for September 2022 is open until April 14, 2022
