Resume Monday March 28, 2022

In person tours will again resume at OLQM.

Mr. Woods will be inviting parents to take a tour of the school by class beginning this week.

Parents must have a mask on when entering the building.

The tours will be for parents of enrolled students and a separate appointment may be made for parents interested in having their child attend OLQM.

Parents will be given a tour by students of the 8th grade throughout the whole building. Parents are reminded that they should not engage the teacher/aides in conversation as they will be working with the whole class during the tour.

The tour will run approximately from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM so as to not interfere with snack/lunch/nap periods.

All tours will end at 10:00 AM so the Health and Safety Cleaning person may clean after the tour.

Mr. Woods and Ms. Zogda will be available after the tour for any questions.

Parent Teacher Conferences will also take on a

new dimension this week.

To assist parents who returned to their office

and parents who work from home.

IN PERSON Parent Teacher Conferences

1:00 PM - 2:30 PM --

you must register on the teacher's blog.

In person - parents must have a mask on and will be seated in the school lunchroom 3 feet apart until the teacher is free to see them.

All parents must enter through the school lunchroom -- the main school door will not grant access.

ZOOM parent teacher conferences

3:00 PM - 5:45 PM

Parent must register on the teacher's blog.

ELA (English Language Arts) Test Grades 3-8

Tuesday March 29th Part I - 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM

Thursday March 31st - Part II - 9:00 AM - 12:00 noon

Makeup Dates APRIL 1- April 8th

Students will need pencils, highlighters and a book to read.

Students will not be able to have any water bottles in the room.

Students will not be able to leave the room for the bathroom after the test has begun.

Students will not be able to leave the room to see the nurse-- the nurse will be summoned to the room if needed.

Students will be required if they finish early to read a book ONLY.

They will not be able to ask the teacher to get something from somewhere,

go to their bookbag etc..

These guidelines are outlined on the NYSED website should parents have questions.

Report Card Progress and Summer School

The third quarter report card on April 1st will notify parents if their child will be required to attend summer school in order to be promoted to the next grade. There is ample time -- 2 months of school remaining for students to improve their grades in order to avoid summer school.

The report card will note that Summer Summer in PERSON is a requirement for promotion.

Please speak to your child's teacher on Friday April 1st during the scheduled report card time.

The summer school program is free and open to open to all students. Students who are failing will be required to attend in person for the whole program which will be held here at OLQM.

Also as listed in the parent/student handbook children who have been absent more than 20 school days will be retained in that grade.

As always parents may see Mr. Woods on Sundays from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM with any of their concerns regarding their child's progress, summer school or promotion to the next grade.

There is no appointment needed for parents to see Mr. Woods on Sundays.

Registration Opens April 4th, 2022

An email will be sent out this week to all parents about the Summer Program.
