Progress Reports

Progress Reports from Educate as well as Progress Reports from

Edgenuity were sent home on Friday.

The Edgenuity report shows your child's name and next to their name the mark that is computer generated by the program.

Next to each topic listed is a band of colors:

Green - completed

Blue - In progress

Red - not completed

Probably the best indicator for a parent is the time factor listed on the very far right corner in terms of minutes and seconds that a task was done.

Sometimes parents need to sit and have a conversation why homework if and when assigned took only 3 minutes and then popped up as incomplete.

The time that the assignment was done - whether in school or at home is also listed on the report for parent review.

As mentioned many times this program assists students on where they are at academically based on their NWEA MAP scores.

As also mentioned the rule of thumb is 20 minutes a day on Edgenuity if a child is experiencing academic difficulty to assist them in mastering skills that MAP scores are showing as being troublesome.

Progress Report Notification and Summer School

The fourth quarter progress report was distributed on May 20th and notified parents if their child will be required to attend summer school in order to be promoted to the next grade. There is ample time -- 1 month of school remaining for students to improve their grades in order to avoid summer school.

The report card will note that Summer Summer in PERSON is a requirement for promotion.

The summer school program is free and open to open to all students. Students who are failing will be required to attend in person for the whole program which will be held here at OLQM.

Also as listed in the parent/student handbook children who have been absent more than 20 school days will be retained in that grade.

As always parents may see Mr. Woods on Sundays from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM with any of their concerns regarding their child's progress, summer school or promotion to the next grade.

There is no appointment needed for parents to see Mr. Woods on Sundays
