Date Change for PreK For All Parents and Students

Dear Parents of students entering the PreK For All Program,

          I hope this letter finds you well.

          I wanted to make you aware of calendar changes regarding the opening parent meeting and the Meet and Greet.

          Due to roof repairs we will not be able to meet as previously planned in letters and phone calls to you - for this I apologize.

          We will now have both the parent meeting and the Meet and Greet on

         

                   Wednesday September 7th                                                           from 
                       11:00 AM - 1:00 PM

          I ask that you bring your child to the meeting ready to meet their teacher before school begins on Thursday September 8th.

          I will meet with all parents after your child transitions into the classroom.

          As a reminder school will begin on Thursday September 8th.

          Looking forward to meeting you on September 7th.

The school calendar for the 2016-2017 school year has been posted on the school web site of www.olqmnyc.org. You will see that there is a tab at the top of this blog page that takes you to the web site.

Click the Home page tab and you can download the calendar for your review.

The calendar will be updated monthly and you will receive a hard copy at the beginning of each month.  Also, each week this blog will post the announcements for that particular week.

Parents are reminded that the school office is open each day from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM should you have any questions.

Dear parents of students entering Kindergarten in September, 2016

        This year there will be two Kindergarten classes - 25 students in each class this coming September:
                    K-1 - Ms. Ocasio
                    K-2 - Ms. Coello

        I am happy to welcome Ms. Coello as the new Kindergarten teacher. Ms. Coello has been a teacher in the after school program here at OLQM for the last 5 years and has worked in the PreK Summer program for the past three years.

        My office recently has received a number of calls requesting a specific teacher.  In order to be fair regarding the distribution of students in each class and addressing parents wishes the following be in place.

         Parents may request a specific teacher if:
                   1. The September tuition has been paid to                                          Smart Tuition by August 15th.  
                2. Once the parent has paid they should 
                 call the school office at 212-567-3190 
                 and speak to Alba letting her know that they have                        paid and they are requesting that their child be                            placed in a specific class.
       This policy existed for many years at OLQM when we had two Kindergarten classes and we are happy that the enrollment initiative instituted by the Archdiocese has enabled us to open the second Kindergarten class again.

           Parents who may not have seen their scholarship reflected on their Smart Tuition account should contact Carol Martino - the enrollment specialist for the Catholic School Region of Manhattan at  646-794-2563.

            Parents may reach Mr. Woods at the school office from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
