Nemo has arrived
Many parents may have seen the completed salt water tank that Mr. Marcial set up on the first floor of the school. This newest ecosystem enables the students of OLQM to observe a marine ecosystem and study the impact we are having on our oceans. If you have not seen the tank in operation stop by with your child and watch their reaction.
OLQM is grateful to a number of donors who enabled this project to take place.

Those who already have an account with Smart Tuition must make the payment through Smart Tuition. If you have any questions please see Alan.
Please understand that this is a whole new system being used by the Regional Office and that there is help available to assist you in the office.
As of today 39 students have been registered for Kindergarten through the Apply Now website and as I spoke about at the PreK meetings decisions regarding the opening of a second Kindergarten class. The time line of payments due etc. must be followed so that this is a smooth transition for everyone.

Re-Registration will begin on Monday for September for students entering Grades 1-8 in September. You will see the re-registration fee on your Smart Tuition account this week. Parents are required to sign a Re-Registration form with Mrs. Resto in the office.

Report Cards - Final Grade Column - Parent Access to Cornerstone

Last Friday February 5th when you received your child's report card you would have noticed that there is a column labeled Final Grade Column which gives you the running average to date of your child's grade. Cornerstone will be updating the whole grade book system this week and that feature will be one of the things that will not be generated on future report cards.
A positive thing that will be available is an app for the iPhone that has been developed and will be tested this week for parent access to grades/homework etc. Other things will also be updated and when they are they will be posted on this blog. Cornerstone has waited until now so that there would be no interruption of report card distribution as they update the system.
Again, you as parent have the availability to check your child's grades on a daily basis to see if they have handed in homework, answered an exit ticket correctly at the end of class, completed a project etc.
If you do not have a login or password please see Alan or e-mail Mr. Woods at olqm1@aol.com so that you may be given one.
